Tsunku ♂ is a musician, producer, lyricist, composer and President of TNX Ltd, which is a comprehensive entertainment company.

In 1992, he made his debut as a vocalist of rock band SHARAM Q, and 4 of their songs sold a million copies.

Tsunku ♂ then produced a girl group called MORNING MUSUME。 which was a huge success that led the group to become an icon of Japanese music. Following his success with MORNING MUSUME。, he launched the “HELLO! PROJECT” organization. Several artists and girl groups—including MORNING MUSUME。—became a part of this organization as Tsunku ♂ acted as the general producer.

By constantly replacing the old members with newcomers, the “HELLO! PROJECT” continually renewed itself. Additionally, by producing even the most intricate details of stage outfits, hairstyles of the artist(s), the choreography, the music videos and the CD covers, the “HELLO! PROJECT” became an even bigger success.

MORNING MUSUME。 currently holds the record for the most-sold top 10 single CD hits in Japan, numbering all the way to 71 songs that topped the charts.

The “HELLO! PROJECT” became a social phenomenon which altered the existence of idols in Japan and marked a significant achievement on J-Pop.

Tsunku ♂ continues to produce and write music for numerous artists in Japan. So far, he has written and released over 2,000 songs that have all been registered to Japan's copyright collecting society.

Aside from producing music, Tsunku ♂ has also produced theatrical plays, concerts, musicals, films, video games, restaurants, and even entrance ceremonies for universities. In regard to video games, Tsunku ♂produced the game software of Nintendo's Rhythm Heaven series which sold 5 million copies worldwide. Tsunku ♂ continues to work as a producer in various fields of entertainment.
